"Welcome to Barcelona Cruise Port! Creuers is focused on excellence of service and the highest levels of security. Over the last three years, we have successfully homeported the three biggest cruise ships in the world. Barcelona has always maintained its appeal as a popular destination."
Barcelona is one of Europe’s leading tourist destinations for local and international visitors, and according to Turisme de Barcelona, it attracted 30.4 million people in 2013. The port is ideally positioned to service cruise traffic destined for the city of Barcelona itself and the region of Catalonia, both of which offer many historic, natural and cultural attractions for tourists.
Founded in 1999, Creuers del Port de Barcelona S.A. (Creuers) operates five public cruise terminals at the Port of Barcelona: Terminal A, B, C at Adossat pier; and Terminal North & South at the World Trade Center. Creuers has accumulated comprehensive knowledge of the industry and increased cruise passenger traffic to become the largest cruise port in Europe, and the 4th largest in the world.
The port’s facilities have been improved in order to accommodate the largest ships in the world, namely the Genesis Class (Oasis, Allure and Harmony of the Seas). A new concourse has been built connecting Terminals B and C, and a new gangway has also been installed to serve such vessels.
The operational needs of its clients are the motivation behind the port's management. Highly trained personnel, maximum security across all ship operating procedures, and collaboration with the authorities and security forces underpin the port's safety and reliability. Creuers is a leader in port security and specific logistics for cruise traffic. The port follows strict guidelines to guarantee that all needs in terms of safety and security are met, and it implements the ISPS Code as well as EU regulations.
Creuers has recently been recognized with the following Awards: “Best Turnaround Port Operations”, “Most Efficient Operator”, “Most Improved Port Facilities” and “Most Responsive Port”.
In 2014, Global Ports Holding acquired the majority of Creuers, and became the largest cruise port operator in the World.
